Occupations

Creating sustainable communities requires the efforts and understanding of a broad range of practitioners and IGNITE raises awareness of the diversity of occupations involved in the sector whilst assisting local community activists in leading regeneration.

Core occupations include people who spend almost all their time in activities to do with planning, delivering and managing sustainable communities and associated occupations include people whose contribution is extremely important to successful delivery of sustainable communities but are not involved in delivery full time.

Cross-cutting occupations are occupations that relate to more than one area of sustainable communities, such as economic development and regeneration.
